Who is Rome Za?!

UPDATE: November 3rd, 2011
I started writing in my blog again because my mind has had a lot of things changing inside of it and now I am not fighting my ego anymore… I am working on bettering other peoples lives through the vehicles of martial arts, nutrition, and listening… Teaching at OMG MMA 7 days a week, I am working on bettering the lives of all my students, and the people in my life, and theirs. I will be writing the things that I think about and that I feel passionate about.. Stay tuned
Rome Za is on a lifelong mission to do what he wants, when he wants to. If that means doing Jiu Jitsu three times a day, going on vacation any time he wants, riding his bike through the mean streets of Brooklyn, or even just kicking it with his family and his Pitbull Julius Caesar.
Rome has always been active as a child, playing soccer, basketball, handball, and plenty of others. It was when he was twelve years old, when his interest was really sparked with Muay Thai training at a local gym. Rome trained at this gym for a few years but decided that Muay Thai wasn’t for him. That was when he discovered fitness, and started lifting weights. In the first year Rome started lifting weight’s he was 120 lbs, and he could barely lift his body weight. By the end of the first year, Rome was lifting 255 lbs for repetition’s, weighing 132 pounds. They say you do best what you love and Rome loved fitness!
At the age of 19, Rome had been into fitness for about 5 years and producing great results. He was mentoring a lot of other kids that started to get interested in fitness as well. That same year, he found his way to his first wrestling gym. Feeling great on the mat, but not having enough time to train, Rome wasn’t getting the results he wanted because of his strict school schedule in the Pre-Med program. He trained on and off for about a year in wrestling until he decided he will try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
In March of 2008, Rome found Clockwork BJJ and trained there for about 2 years winning a bunch of titles… Two weeks after he started training, he competed in his first tournament, and took first place! Since then he has been a regular competitor and taking home medals on every outing. He received his purple belt in December of 2009. This is a list of his Competition victories.
