So on Saturday I competed at the Naga Worlds, I fought in the expert under 130 mens no-Gi division along with the lightweight Gi Purple belt division.
I took home the title for the expert division, fighting a very game black belt in the finals and took 2nd in the purple belt Light weight division. Overall a pretty good day. Next time I want to come home with 2 titles obviously. So back to the drawing boards for the Gi.
During my match in the finals with the black belt, I caught him in a guillotine that was tight as fuck! and after a minute I let go and I swear his lips were blue, which shows how tough this guy was! He was gargling for a while and still no tap! My hat goes off to you, fellow grappler. The rest of my matches were not so memorable. My first match in the No-Gi, the kid surprised me with the scissor takedown and went for a heel hook, I was pretty pissed that he would attempt a heel hook me and I foot locked him for the tap.
It was a long day overall, we came into the venue at 12 and left at 7. The event was run a little better than previous ones, but it was still a circus. Learning how to wait and deal with that stuff is just part of the game.
