This might sound like common knowledge for some people, but making to-do lists has made my life better in every aspect. The best way to make something happen in your life is to do it! The problem for me is remembering to do it…
A few years ago I started making lists. A list for the day, a list for the week, a list for the month, 3 months, 6 months, and I stop at one year because anything more is just to far away. After I make a list I promise myself to fulfill this list to the best of my abilities. There have been times when I did not eat for 8+ hours fulfilling my daily list. Sometimes I finish my list for the week in one day. Either way I still make sure that list is all crossed off by the time I was supposed to finish it by. I organize the things in importance/time sensitivity first. Then when the morning comes I just start at the top of the list and work my way down. I cross off things that are done and add more things that need to be done, with time constraints of course.
You can incorporate lists into your phone, computer, just a regular piece of paper or your calendar. But make sure you have a list and keep your integrity to fulfill it. Because what is a list if you just look at it and don’t do anything about it?
For lists that you make, creating time constraints are the 2nd most important part. The 1st most important part is staying true to your promise of fulfilling that list.
Your lists can be shopping lists, homework assignments, calling lists, and anything else you can think of. My father has books scattered all over the place of to do lists for every aspect of his life. He is one of the most punctual people I have ever met in my life. I respect him greatly for that quality among others. He is always on point for birthdays, bills, appointments, and anything else that comes up in his life.
Incorporate lists into your life and create the possibility of accomplishing it all.
